Do probiotic cleaners disinfect?

No, probiotic cleaners do not disinfect—and that is precisely where their strength lies.

Conventional disinfectants work by eliminating as many microorganisms as possible, without distinction: they destroy harmful bacteria as well as beneficial ones. The result is a momentarily sterile surface, but one that is immediately exposed to rapid and uncontrolled recolonization by any microorganism present in the environment.

Probiotic cleaners work differently. Rather than eliminating, they rebalance. By introducing beneficial bacteria to your surfaces, they create a stable microbial ecosystem that naturally leaves little room for unwanted microorganisms. This is known as microbial competition: the good bacteria occupy the ground first.

The result is not a sterile surface, but a healthy one—protected continuously and sustainably, rather than just momentarily.
